Eralore is an old world that still bears the mark of its beginning.
It came into being through a single act of creation, and traces of that moment remain woven into the land as the Echoes of Creation. These Echoes are part of the world itself. They respond when something meaningful happens. They can mend what was broken or deepen the harm that was done. Magic in Eralore carries consequence because it draws from these lingering imprints of creation.
Across the land, several civilizations have grown in their own ways through their relationship with the Echoes. Humanity, centered in the kingdom of Avalon, pursues order, faith, and progress. The Thalindrae, an ancient elven people with a living connection to the natural world, dwell in quiet seclusion within the forests of Thalmar. The Stonmere dwarves shape stone and metal with unmatched skill, guided by memory and tradition. The Myrathi preserve knowledge in hidden places, choosing patience over influence despite their small stature. The Gorvak orcs live by strength and transformation beneath their volcanic domain, ever mindful of the war god they serve. Their histories are bound together through trade, rivalry, cooperation, and conflict.
The present age is defined by strain and distance between these peoples. Human expansion has pushed into lands that were once shared. Alliances built through knowledge and necessity have given way to mistrust. The elves have withdrawn and are now spoken of in uncertain terms. Dwarven gates remain closed while their ancient works continue to shape the world in quiet ways. Scholars in hidden places watch for signs that the balance is shifting. In the spaces left by division, darker forces have begun to take root.
The past has not faded. It lingers close, and the drums of war can be heard once more.
